Cloud Capacity
Here you find how the cloud capacity is calculated.
What is Cloud Capacity?
Cloud capacity is the capacity you have available to sell to your customers. Here is an overview of how we calculate Cloud Capacity for the different products.
Calculation for RAM
RAM = (Total CPU nodes * total GB RAM installed per node) - 1 whole node for reservations
Rocket Storage = (Total CPU nodes * (total RS per node / 2 for RAID10 - 1680 GB per node)) - 1 whole node for reservations
Example
Raw Capacity:
- 384 cores (+128 as extra node)
- 3072GB RAM (+1024 as extra node)
- 46080GB Rocket Storage (+15360GB as extra node)
Cloud Capacity:
- 384 cores (+128 as extra node)
- 3.072GB RAM (+1024 as extra node)
- 18000GB Rocket Storage (+6000GB as extra node)
Calculation for Distributed Storage
Total GB across 3 nodes, divided by 3 for redundancy, multiplied by 80% because ceph doesn’t work above 80% capacity - ignore OS SSD disks.
Example
Raw Capacity:
- 23040 GB
Cloud Capacity:
- 6114 GB
